In this guide, you'll learn how to configure Hosted SPF (PowerSPF) for your domain. It simplifies SPF management, keeps your record within the 10-lookup limit, and lower the changes of authentication issues.
Step 1: To begin your Hosted SPF (PowerSPF) deployment, sign in to your DMARC Director to access the DMARC Director dashboard. From there, you can start managing and making changes to your SPF record directly through the portal.

Step 2: On the left-hand side menu displaying the various features, navigate to and click on the PowerSPF tab, as shown below:
/msdyn_blobfile/$value)
Step 3: From the Hosted SPF (PowerSPF) page, open the Active Domain drop-down menu to view your registered domain, as shown below.
/msdyn_blobfile/$value)
Step 4: After selecting your domain from the list, the page will display the current SPF record configuration for that domain, as shown below.
/msdyn_blobfile/$value)
On this page, you'll be able to see the SPF record currently published in your domain's DNS, along with all active mechanisms and their settings.
Step 5: To add new mechanisms to your SPF record, go to the Add new mechanism section.
/msdyn_blobfile/$value)
Step 6: Choose the way you want to authorize sending sources on your SPF record by selecting the mechanisms from the cascading menu, as shown below:
/msdyn_blobfile/$value)
Step 7: Once you've chosen a mechanism, enter the IP address into the field provided and click +Add.
/msdyn_blobfile/$value)
Step 8: Your newly added mechanism will now appear in the list of active mechanisms. When ready, click Save SPF record to apply your changes.
/msdyn_blobfile/$value)
Step 9: Click the Enable Hosted SPF (PowerSPF) button if it's not already active for your domain.
Note: If Hosted SPF (PowerSPF) is disabled, you can still add new sources through the portal. However, your previous Hosted SPF (PowerSPF) record will mean live in DNS and any changes you make won't be reflected in the published record until it's enabled.

Deleting a Mechanism
You can also remove a mechanism that was previously added by going to the Mechanisms section on the Hosted SPF (PowerSPF) page.. Simply click the X next to the mechanism you want to delete, then select Save SPF record to apply the change.

Email providers can change their sending mechanisms or IP addresses without letting you know. To make sure your SPF record stays accurate, DMARCDirector run checks every 20 minutes and automatically update your record with the latest information. This happens in the background without you needing to do anything, keeping your SPF under the 10-lookup limit and helping ensure proper authentication and reliable email delivery.
I hope this guide helped you get Hosted SPF (PowerSPF) set up for your domain. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our support team at DMARC@tangent.com and we'll be happy to help.
