This article describes the steps to configure DKIM with MailChimp for emails sent from your domain. This will help your emails appear as if it is coming from your domain instead of MailChimp, increase the change of your receivers click on the emails, and help boost email deliverability.
 
Verifying Your Domain in MailChimp
 
MailChimp requires you to verify your domain before you can start with the DKIM setup.
 
To verify your domain:
  1. Login to your MailChimp account.
  2. Navigate to AccountsSettings.
  3. Navigate to Domains Overview.
  4. Click on Website.
  5. Click on Domain.
  6. In the Email Domains section, click Add & Verify Domain.
  1. A dialog box will appear that prompts you to enter your email address which will receive verification link. Enter an email address and click on Send Verification Email.
  2. In the email you receive, click on the Verify Domain Access button. Alternatively you can use the provided verification code to verify your domain. Then click Verify.
  3. Lastly, click Done.
 
Setting up DKIM for Your Domain
 
  1. After verifying your domain, Click on Website.

 
  1. Then click on Domain.

 
  1. Click Start Authentication next to the verified email domain you want to work with.

 
  1. Choose your domain provider from the dropdown and click Next. If your service provider is not listed, choose Other

 
  1. In a separate browser window or tab, navigate to your domain provider's website and find your domain's records. Depending on who you choose during step 4, you will receive guidance on where to find them.

 

  1. After you find your domain's records, navigate back to Mailchimp and click Next.

 
  1. A dialogue box will appear showing you what CNAME record you need to create and the values for it in order to have DKIM configured. Copy the values and paste them into the appropriate fields for your domain.
Note: These values will be customized for your domain and the service you are using.

 
An example of how the record will look like when entering to your DNS is here:
 
  1. When you're done, click Next.

 
  1. When you have finished the authenticated process successfully, you'll see the Authenticated label next to your domain on the Domain page in your account.

 

  1. You can then verify your message is passing DKIM by sending yourself a test message and analyzing the header of the message.
